Touched By Fire began in the fall of 2007. It was both an online gallery and a live exhibit celebrating the art of people with mood disorders. It was an optimistic effort, but also one filled with many doubts. Would the artists respond? Would the community respond? And most important of all – would the work be really good?

Here’s what happened:
By 2009, in only its third year, Touched By Fire received over 450 submissions for the live show and sale, of which 75 were chosen to be exhibited at the Royal Ontario Museum.

The show attracted an audience of over 700 people!!

The artists, the organizers, and the patrons were thrilled – and determined to make Touched By Fire an even greater success this year.

Entries are now being accepted for the 2010 Gallery Exhibit. We look forward to seeing everyone on November 25th 2010 at the ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM.

Use this website to enter your artwork for the Gallery Show. If you already have work displayed on this site, you can designate some of your work to the competition for the Gallery show. If you are new to this website, you can submit work to be displayed on this site at the same time as you enter work for the Gallery Show. We must restrict entries to two-dimensional art (paintings, drawings, etc.) executed in any medium; as well as photography.

Do not send us your original art at the preliminary entry stage. Detailed information on how to enter is available here, or you may phone the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario at 1-888-486-8236.

The live exhibit will be held as a single night’s event this year at the Royal Ontario Museum on the evening of November 25th, 2010. Because of space limitations, our judges will select between 50 and 70 works for this art gallery display. However, all submissions will be mounted on our online gallery, and sales can be completed online or at the live show in November. Everyone is welcome to attend the live show and we look forward to seeing you there!
