Artist's statement: I am a Native artist from the Tyendanega Reserve near Deseronto, Ontario. I have been painting formally since I was 18. I spent my summers on the reserve with my aunt and uncle and had a quiet life as at the time I was little , they were in thier late 60's. I have never had any formal training as an artist but I have had the opportunity to have known and been influenced by wolf morresseau. Other influences were Benjamin Chee Chee, some cree. I have my own signature work which is a style influenced by chee chee although i do do traditional work. But life never stops and I keep on learning as I think we all do. I have learnt to keep life simple, as it is simple,with truth as a guide.
